I am ripping down the old wooden slats and plaster off a wall as it is loose and full of holes.
I am then going to put up plasterboards and get a plasterer in.

What advice is there to putting boards up?

I read somewhere that if the edge of a board doesn't finish by one the peices of wood in the frame you attach floating peices????

Slightly unsure of all this but want to give it a go rather than getting someone in.

join any board ends on an upright stud. should the board end not reach a stud, then cut the board to suit.

bound edges of the plasterboard go across the studs, i.e. at 90 deg to the uprights.

you can either nail or screw the boards. if the studs are bouncy then it is best to screw. use 30mm drywall screws.
