I am trying to work out how many slates i will get in a sq m.

Can anyone advise I had some slate samples but my council rejected tehm all. When i was at the roofing yard the chap work it out at around 19 per sq meter. Looking at the old slates (asbestos) same size these add up to around 12 ( on roof at present each slate is showing 10" if that makes sense). So I am confused, can someone offer advice please.

I have it worked out as 70square metres per side ( no chimneys etc )

Slates I have been told need to be the same as the main house 20" X 10"

Hope you can offer advice

250x500 would equate to 20 per sq mtr.

Allowances for cuts around hips etc on top of this, and of course your tile & half's for the bonding arrangement.
