Hello,
Earlier on today we had a delivery and lorry wheel broke through driveway surface/ hidden concrete cover. I have removed all the broken concrete (about 4 inches thick) and shovelled out loads of sludge from the chamber and am left with what is in attached photos.
There is as seen an inlet pipe about 3-4 ft up wall and what looks like an outlet pipe about the same height on other side. The bottom seems to be solid concrete. The water at the bottom is from me hosing the walls down and is few inches deep.
Query is why is the chamber so deep but pipes so high up? Is it normal that the chamber would fill up before escaping down outlet but still leave a fairly deep level?
Also I need to get another reinforced cover , can I normally get one about 4 ft square from a builders merchant ?
Are there other options for this apart from concrete?. I will of course put a few inches of gravel on top as it was before.
Thanks very much in advance.
James
