Hi everyone,

Thanks for reading this post. My wife wants me to sort out the problem with our rads and I want to be the competent and knowledgeable man that she doubts I am.
I'm wondering:

1. if i can get away with just replacing the head here.. the valve doesn't look pretty but do you think it could just be cleaned up? The radiator heats up well currently in spite of the rusty disgrace that is the valve.

2. Does anyone recoginse this TRV head? it has no brand or markings. The large thread is 30mm, the smaller fittings (nuts) inside are 14 and 21 mm. Are these guys generally interchangeable? I've read yes and no...

Thanks for any help

The pin, judging by the rusty marks, is obviously leaking - so you need to swap out the valve and TRV, as a unit.

To control the temperature, turn the lockshield valve down for the time being, until the warmer weather, makes the job less pressing.
