doing a house up at the minute and after a bit of advice, do outside lights have to be on their own fuse and when landing lights are two way, up and downstairs, does the landing light take a feed from upstairs or downstairs ring. thank you

Outside lights can be fed from the house lighting circuits, up or down as long as they don't exceed the total loading for that circuit fuse (normally 1200 watts per circuit = 6 amp mcb) If the outside lights exceed this amount then they should be wired on there own circuit.

The two way light switching depends on how the circuit has been wired, so either is ok. Check the how to pages for info on this

In my opinion you are better to wire security lights from the power circuit via a fused spur so that you can isolate them easily to change the bulb. Never change a bulb with the lights wired directly in case your shadow trips the light when you are holding the bulb (nasty burns will result).
