Hello all.
My first post, I've joined for advice on the replacement roof that my elderly mother has put on her lean-to shed.
I've attached photos to try to get my point across better.
1. The end plastic trim is rough cut and not even sealed or end covers, it's this normal? It doesn't look right to me. The new plastic trim has also been attached to the old wooden trim, I thought this would have been removed. Without removing the Town trim then the old felt under it could not be removed!
2. The roofer has not removed the old cracked felt going into the house brickwork but has just covered it with the new rubber sheet then silicone sealed the new trim (in lieu of leading / flashing) but this is sitting at least 10mm off the brickwork which would allow wind driven rain in and onto the old felt.
Where my mother lives is on the side of a hill and winds in excess of 70 mph are common in winter. I worry that a bit of sealant / mastic will not hold this wall trim in place, or are my concerns incorrect?
Thanks. Stephen
