My AEG Santo fridge is nearly five years old. It is having periods where it does not cool and the temperature goes up to 12-14 for several hours, then it starts cooling again and comes back to 4. These periods are getting longer and longer, so the fridge is now unusable.
When the fridge stops cooling it goes quiet and the Coolmatic fan stops working, but the lights and display stay on. I can hear when it comes back on again.
The AEG repair service said that the PCB had failed but replacing it made no difference, so they have now said the compressor is at fault.
Any ideas what the problem could be?
