Air brick above combi boiler flue

Hello all,

A friend has recently rented a house, the boiler is in the kitchen and is a combi (make unknown at present).

I noticed that directly above the flue is an air brick.
Is this safe? Wouldn't fumes be able to blow back into the house if the wind blows in the right (wrong) direction?

Any help/advice appreciated.
Mark.

Assuming it is a fan flued combi, then as long as it is at least 300mm from flue edge to air brick edge it is to regulations.

Can't be sure how far away it is but next time I'm there I'll check.

Cheers.
