I am installing an air source heat pump (size to be determined). DHW and space heating is required. I am constantly told about oversizing, radiators and pump. But also very aware that the pump must not "cycle" or the efficency will drop like a stone!
The max temperature would be 55 on a good day, thus DHW will have to be topped up via an immersion heater element.
Would a Y Plan be ok for such a pump and size KW as per normal gas boiler. I was told having a buffer cylinder for the space heating would be better, giving a body of hot water ready to go at start-up.
That would make two cylinders and a heat pump, its starting tot up price wise??

Cheers
