Hi

I have a 1970s house and the bathroom has a air vent about 1 meter from top on one wall.

Also another bedroom has two air vents in it. I have attached pictures.

When I decorate can I simply get fill these with plaster?

I dont see what purpose they are providing or know why they are there.

andyhuk, Hi again.

OK the internal vents were simply to provide [rudimentary] internal ventilation.

In some cases there were fitted similar vents above bedroom doors?

In you case, if the external vents have already been removed indicates that you can is you wish simply remove the internal hit / miss vents and infill the holes as needed, with a plaster finish internally.

As an aside? has the property had retro-filled cavity wall insulation?

Ken.
