We're buying a house. We're in the survey stage at the moment and the survey highlighted an inadequate number of airbricks in the property. Any idea who we can get to install airbricks, is it any type of builders or something more specific?

if your fairly confident/competent then something like this you could do yourself, they only cost a few pounds each,im sure somewhere on here there are detailed instructions on a how to do.
the object of airbricks is to give ventillation to the sub floor,i would recommend the plastic 9x6 louverd vents (they are more efficent).
you may feel this is above your limits,so if this is the case a decent handyman should be able to do this for you,or a builder will have no trouble at all, unless they find unforeseen problems.
hth a little.

no that's great, just checking how big a job it is so no worries.

another question. have noticed that we have a airbrick on the bottom side of the house. there's an airbrick on the outside but the area inside the house is papered. the paper by that area is coming away from the wall. should the airbrick have access all the way through to the inside? i'm guessing who decorated simply papered over the airbrick?

Air bricks are normally below floor level. They give ventilation to the void under your floorboards. You don't normally see them from inside the room.

On the other hand if you are sure it's above floor level and there is a gas fire in the room then it might be ventilation for that and so shouldn't have been papered over.
