Airbricks

Hi, I've got a rear single storey brick extension with cavity wall. It has a solid concrete floor. There are air bricks above the dpc. I've been told that they should not have been installed. I was told it was for floating floors or timber. Does this sound right

Nope. There's a big cavity under a block and beam (concrete) floor, for example. Lots of air flow needed to keep it dry
