aircrete foundation for shed/workshop

Hi

I'm aiming to build a shed/workshop about 4x5m with a heavy green roof on a timber frame.

Most advice on foundations I've had ends up with a concrete footing about 100mm thick plus a layer of concrete blocks. The floor is then sand, dpm, and concrete floor poured in the middle.

Just come across aircrete foundation blocks which looks like it might be an easier and vaguely greener approach. But, don't quite understand how they're laid. Is it:
1. dig trench with nice level bottom (sand screed required?)
2. lay 2 courses of foundation blocks, mortared on the horizontals (but not the verticals?)
3. Backfill
4. Bob's your uncle.

Perhaps I'm missing something obvious...

If anyone has a link to an instructional video or similar that'd be marvellous, I can't seem to find one.

There is no need for foundation blocks for a timber frame of that size, even with the green roof...pinenot

Thanks pinenot. I was wondering if using blocks instead of pouring wet concrete would make the job easier. Then considered the depth of digging and the fact that I'd just be using a lot more material and realised it was a stupid idea
