airing cupboard heating

Just switched over to an unvented cylinder system, with cylinder now in the loft. What's the best way to heat the airing cupboard? Thought about an extra rad in there, but obviously it wouldn't be much good in the summer.

Why not stick a rad in off of your primarys to the coil if the uvhwc is indirect. This will mean that the cupboard will still heat in the summer, or fit a 3 port valve and when the cylinder comes up to temp the valve will close on the stat and by-pass through to the return while the operation of the boiler is controlled by the clock and not the mirco switch in the 3 port.

Thats an idea cozzmic, but I think it may create a boiler interlock issue.
Is it really necessary for you to have heat in there? Assuming you have a drier I dont see the need for it

Use a £9 radiator from B&Q and a £5 trv, on the primaries.

Chris R Do you ever sleep. You could put in a small electric heater working off a stat just to keep it aired. Mind and screen it off so your smalls don't fall onto it.

Or put a cheap electric radiator in there, very cheap to run 80W or so. Useful in the summer if you have a combi.

Artful, I thought about an electric heater. What sort of heat would you get from an 80W tubular, and what's the best way to run them, continuously or with a timer.

Quite a decent amount, certainly enough to dry your towels, trainers etc. I have one that I keep on all the time in my old ex-airing cupboard and my leccy bills are b-all nothing.

Mind you it looks like it belongs in a hospital, so stuck in a cupboard is the best place for it!
