Airlock?

Hi , yes i have came across system boilers b4 but not with this problem. It is an ideal boiler
cheers

so you'll know the pump is in the boiler then not under the floorboards, and you would have checked the system pressure?? Are you gas registered or a plumber?

OK, this is an ideal system boiler. I have had the casing off and could not see apump there, there is virtually only enough room for the gas valve. so i presume it is under the floor on its way to the cylinder, where a would imagine the port valves are there, to which there is no access as floor is laminated. And yes i am gas registered, but new to the plumbing side.
Any help would be much appreciated.Just a bit of advice.
Thank you

Can you hear water running around the system to at least see if this mysterious pump is working?

You say the pressure is correct, does is fluctuate when the boiler is turned on?

Has the system been serviced regularly with inhibitor added accordingly?

What colour is the water coming out of any bleed vent?

The heat travelling to the cylinder may just be from convection so your pump maybe the culprit.

Cheers Pete,
The water is clear, at the cylinder you can hear water from header tank trickling into circ, then it stops, then, more faster then slows down and stops. The boiler probably lasts about 20-30 secs. Then i would assume the thermistat/thermister has reached tmp then cuts out. No fault code appears on boiler. (it is an ideal not sure of model as i am not there now)
cheers again

I am a bit lost now as you said the boiler is a system boiler and so is sealed with a filling loop so the tank in the loft is just to feed the HWC.

Pete

Am i getting mixed up? I thought a system boiler worked with a cylinder and header tank. Is it not a combi that has a sealed system and filling link? Or would you call this a traditional boiler.(system boiler) The boiler is an ideal icos.
cheers
To all thanks for help, been back to job all is fine now as found features behind false panel(wall)
cheers

If you dont know difference between a system boiler and a conventional and passed your ACS then god help us all :(

what the hell have you been doing for 2 years then? replacing tap washers and unblocking bogs?

If you have passed yours, you will realise that gas safety has nothing whatsoever to do with identifying different heating systems.

Thanks for your S**t comments g20 and mickyg, i am trying to learn faults like everyone else who starts to learn.
cheers

Dazzarosh,

Assuming the you are gas registered, as you should be to work on boilers, then you should be asking these questions in the Combustion Chamber on this site which is reserved for trade discussions.

You seem to have virtually no idear of what you are doing. Its frankly embarasing to me that the public can see someone with virtually no knowledge at all, apparently working on customers systems. With so little experience that could be dangerous or cause damage.

I strongly suggest you make all your future postings there!

Tony
