Hi all. My post 4/3/05 12:52 refers - thanks to ChrisR for his advice so far.

Problem is that ever since mid position valve replaced, we get recurrent airlocks in our hot water pipes/can't get any hot water out of taps. It is a gravity fed system, with HW cylinder heated by boiler, so separate circuit that is getting air in it - I can't work out where it's getting in!

I have checked cylinder stat as per advice - it is tightly clamped onto copper cylinder, is new and has previously been checked as working OK. Electric Immersion element in tank has definitely not been on at all. I think water maybe got too hot because trapped in pipes/built up.

Other postings mention automatic air vents being fitted to HW pipes - is this the thing that looks like a drink can? Would it cure problem? Outlet from cylinder goes into T, upward pipe hangs into top of loft feed tank. Could this be sucking in air? Plumber coming Weds - any advice welcome!
