Get a mutimeter an see what voltage is coming in. A volt stick may also help.
i put a volt stick in both holes and they are both showing live
Multimeter is the only sure way .....230-240v AC in , 17-21v AC coming out

I strongly suggest you get an electrician in to help before you kill yourself
