Hi,

I've got to build a stud wall and I've got the bottom, footer plate (2x3) screwed to the floor.

How do I make sure the rest of the timber including the header plate don't get scew wiff and they line up with the rest of the timbers?

Surely there are tircks to building the frame work for one of the walls?

Cheers

Drop plumblines down from the ceiling to find and mark vertical points directly above the baseplate. This will give you a parallel line to fix the head plate. Vertical studwork is placed using a long spirit level.

if you do it that way, build it 47mm short, then put a 2 x 4 (47mm x 100mm or whatever it works out to ) as a sole plate.. makes it much easier to stand the wall upright..
