None of which are Asylum claims which is what is being discussed here...
They are temporary schemes or right of residence issues...
Those put on the barge and then now evacuated are termed 'Asylum Seekers'
Which bit of "There are no visa routes to enable people to claim asylum in the UK from overseas" which is available of the UK government website do you not get?

Do you think there were 1,200,000 asylum seekers last year? If not, why do you think I was referring to only asylum seekers in my comment?
Maybe you didn't bother reading it ...
Maybe you could explain why the figure of 1.2 million wafted into your head, whether it be asylum seekers or immigration?
The topic is about the former, so you have been babbling on about something totally different and in ignorance!
In the meantime it appears that the Asylum seekers were allowed to drink and wash in possibly contaminated water for some time after the bacteria was discovered...
