All in one ballast

Guys,

I need to order my ballast for my foundations of a small extension, one website says i need 5 tonnes another says 8 tonnes and my building supplier is not to sure he thinks it may be 10 tonnes.

The measurements of the foundations will be as follows

600 wide x 900 deep x 6m in length,

please help me work it out i dont want to be stuck with 3 tonnes of ballast down the drive, dont think the missus would be pleased.

Obvious suggestion - why not order 3.25 m3 of ready mix ? (or 3.5 m3 to be safe)

Or 1050 kg cement / 5900 kg ballast - approx 8 bulk bags (based on approx 800kg/bag

IF you work on 1.6tonne of balast to one cubic meter of concrete then you wont be far off, this would give 5.2T plus a bit for the fact your trench will vary in width.
