Alpha boiler 35c issues

hi
As above I have a alpha 35c combi boiler and I have no hot water ! The heating is fine !
I have a green led on D so I have power
When the wife turns on the hot water C led lights up Amber then goes out
Am I thinking a blocked heat exchanger ??
This has happened before but the water was pulsing hot and cold ??
Any help greatly appreciated
