I've got an Alpha CB28X boiler which is just over 3yrs old the CH works fine but the problem is with the DHW in as much as i get piping hot water from every tap in the house except the bath tap ?

This tap when opened fully only gives luke warm water and i have to close it half way or more like to a trickle and reduce the water flow in order to get piping hot water like all the rest of the hot taps in the house. It makes no difference if the CH is on or off. I opened up the boiler and had a quick look to see if anything looked out of place and i noticed a leak inside which looked like it was leaking from the nut directly above the Diverter valve and which connects directly to the underside of the Heat exchange - I've nipped this up abit tighter and it seems to have stopped the leak hopefully but the water temperature problem is the same, Any ideas please ?

All pipes in the house are 15mm but the bath is 22mm and therefore gives a greater flow of water. Have not noticed any temperature/performance difference on this tap over the last 2 years until now so what could be the problem ?

Thanks Lee

Set the bath tap to the same flow as another tap and the performance should match the other tap.

The boiler will only heat a certain amout of water, more flow less temperature!

I know what your saying but im sure the performance on this bath tap has reduced quite badly. before you could have this tap on full and the water would be pretty hot whereas now you can only just open the tap slightly to get the same sort of temperature i used to get. would the fact that the heat exchange has been leaking (for what looks like some time) cause my problem in anyway ? ie could the Efficiency have reduced somehow ?

Thanks again
