I am very sorry but you have said two things that dont encourage me to try to help you.

Firstly, you say that you expect to get ripped off by repair men! Well, I am probably witin your definition of a repairman but I dont think that I have ever ripped off anyone although some customers have done that to me!

Secondly, you say that you are "very competent" but surely if that was the case then you would have repaired your boiler by now?

Are you gas registered as well?

I suppose you vision of "repairmen" is that they are all rip off artists and that they are not as clever as you are?

thanks for the replies looks like i stepped on someones toes yes i am competant i have mechanical skills i've followed service manual and replaced temp switches cleaned everything to clean i'm not registered but i'm not stupid i have repaired this boiler a few times and followed advice if you dont want to help then dont reply becuase bitching doesn't help

Just saw your profile comment...

You seem to be missing the point a little. You are not competent despite what you think.

To service the boiler properly you need special equipment that is calibrated every year. I suspect your fault is related to the lack of servicing.

Ignoring that you cannot even spell the word "competent" correctly, it does not make you competent to repair boilers just because you can change a few parts. Trained monkeys can do that !

Remember dont go upsetting Dan!

To be competent to repair boilers you need to have diagnostic skills to work out what the fault is !

I am surprised that you dont realise that when you need somebody's help then you should be polite to them and not leave abusive comments on their profile.

Listen bud... not sure why you want to argue with me using profile comments.

The fact of the matter is you do not know what you are doing. The boiler needs to be looked at by a qualified engineer.

You might want to learn how to use fullstops and commas - it'll make your meanderings a little easier to understand.

You can get uppity with me all you like. Doesn't make a jot of difference to me.

'll refrase i'm confident ,ive replaced diapragms ,switches ,spark generator, flue outlet and seals drained and refilled system numerous occations moving radiators in my house just after a little help

if thats the case matey why has it not gone wrong before this boiler is from 2003 i've had engineers round when it has gone wrong no one has said that it needs this your commemts are of no help at all is that not what this site if for just because im not registered oooooh get your handbag out

Don't have a handbag - but I have the calibrated equipment needed to fix your boiler.

How did you test your flue seals were fitted correctly? Did you use any lubrication? What was it?

competent yes competent in being a ****, little does he realise that RGI's are the one's who may JUST MAY have pointed him in slightly the right direction, all he has done is alienate himself from the rest of us WELL DONE VERY COMPETENT.

Judging by what you have done so far to get rid of the problem, I'd say you overestimate your own skills more than a little bit.
Do your safety and your wallet a favor, and get it done by a repair specialist.
Paying a bit more attention to your English would not go amiss either.
