Hi, I have a cattle shed which currently has 4x100w gls lamps providing illumination.

They are somewhat lacking in that they provide some light, but not enough. The fittings are pendants with bayonet caps.

The main usage for the lights is while we are bedding up: 10 mins every 2 days.
Mucking out: say 5 hours, monthly.
Sorting animals/sick animals: Weekly.

It is important that you can see colour well, and that the light coverage is good. Warmup time needs to be within a minute.

Ideally, I'd like to retain the existing fittings, and keep costs and time to a minimum.

Running costs are less important than light quality.

Thanks for your time.

You could fit these if the roof is low, or these if the roof is high up. The fluorescents are much cheaper. Either way, you won't be able to use the bayonet fittings, but can use the same lighting points if you disconnect the pendants and wire straight into the fluorescents. You can get different colour tubes too, depending on your preference.
