Hi all, the PRT2 thermostat is obsolete, I've got half-a-dozen around the home and they all work fine except the dial on one of them is now very stiff, so I thought I'd replace it, but it seems the PRT2 is obsolete. Can the forum advise me on a decent like-for-like alternative?

It's all down to personal preference and what you want to pay. Probably no one has replied so far, because it's a bit like asking 'what car should I buy?' They all have four wheels, some seats and an engine, but everyone will have a different opinion and for different reasons.

The PRT2 requires a live and neutral mains supply and has as switched live output to turn the heating on, so any thermostat will replace it. Some of the new ones have a permanent digital display so are battery powered, in that case you won't need to use the neutral connection.

I've had a Drayton Digistat, for many years it's push-button operated, accurate and reliable.

Other models offer the facility to have different temperatures at different times.

You pay your money and take your choice.
