Hi guys,
I need to build a wooden platform in my back yard. I’ve built a fruit ‘cage’; (2 x 1.1m), to hold a couple of wild fruit bushes !?
I need something to stand it on. The perfect place is mostly on a raised part of the yard,,, with about 18” hanging over, where I’ll have to put legs.

My initial thought was to use decking – but it might be a bit expensive, & fancy, for the purpose.
I intend to make it similar to decking, with gaps for rain, debris etc. It doesn’t have to look pretty – purely functional.

Is there a cheaper alternative to decking ?

I’d prefer to get some ideas from you guys before I go to the local builders/timber yard.

Thanks for reading

Rough sawn pressure treated timber is way superior and way cheaper.

BTW, is your wife's name 'Ada'?

Thanks Joe,

What sort of dimensions ?

99% of the time it will only be holding a few trees & bushes,,, mostly in buckets.

When I go in, I can make sure I tread on the framing etc.

Do you know my missus ? She's called 'Ellen',,,, or El for short,,,,,,,,,
