I'm planning on rebuilding my old uPVC conservatory that I knocked down last spring, but taking advantage of the new 'percentage of glass' rules to try to make it a more usable space in winter/summer.

This means I'll make it a traditional build - cavity walls, wall plates, cut roof, plastic soffits etc.

I want to put around six roof windows in, approx 600mm x 1000mm. This is turning in to the most expensive part. I don't really need them to be openable, so I think I'm paying for things I don't really need. Is there another approach, some way of embedding a normal double glazed unitin a roof with a 30 degree pitch?

Thanks

Gary
