I would like to have Altro Pisces laid over old ceramic tiles in our shower room. The floor has part large tiles and mosaic tiles in the shower area with a drain in the floor, no shower tray or cubicle. I want a unified look, warm on the feet so no more tiles.
Shower area will be divided from the rest of the room by a glass screen so just the shower area is "wet", the rest dry.
Altro tell me the tiles can be covered but need prepping with latex first then a special adhesive.
I know that this is a specialist type of work and expect to pay for the correct expertise.
So far the companies I have contacted express little interest in a small domestic job.
What I would like to ask is could anyone give me a very rough idea of what I might have to pay for the work to be done ? I know that Pisces is readily available on eBay at about £30/ m2 and the room is roughly 2.5m X 1.75m. I am just finding it difficult to even get a quote so any idea of expected cost would be so helpful.
Many thanks
Brian.

I often see Altro being installed on commercial jobs where the floorers are doing hundreds if not thousands of square feet. I've seen it on up-market domestics, too, but generally it's whole house or at least whole floors that are being dealt with. That's the sort of job they tend to prefer where they are getting a minimum of a week's work (and often a lot more). The other issue is that your job will probably require two or more visits - the first to do the prep work, the second to install the Altro, which makes for an expensive job. Have you tried asking around any of the local flooring suppliers to see if they have a fitter who will do weekend jobs?

I realise that is basically a commercial product but trying to get 'anyone' to do the job is really frustrating. I can accept an email response saying that they cannot help, just a polite response but at least six companies/shops/flooring outlets can't even be bothered to respond. We are rural so options/choices are somewhat limited. I will keep on trying.
Cheers
Brian.
