Trying to work out what to do with what appears to be corrosion on an aluminium shower frame.
Also not certain about the cause, although it's in a hard water area so limescale is an issue.

Is there any way of trying to restore the finish, or failing that re-coating?

The slight scratches are to do with trying to clean the area with only a mild scourer and soapy water.

Mould sprays contain bleach and some strong cleaners can contain solvents which will damage paint coatings. Maybe one of those done the damage.
Masking tape and a primer and top coat using spray cans will fix it

Thanks.

I assume E.S.P. primer would be ok?

But what spray paint gives a good brushed aluminium finish?

It's powder coated aluminium?
Kolorbond spray cans

You should not use any scourer on aluminium, it's too soft.Doesn't look to be brushed aluminium finish?

Just checked the shower booklet and it just says Aluminium.

Tricky to get a decent pic without reflections so maybe it's not a fully brushed aluminium, although that's what the supplier said it is.
