Had a few ppl around to quote for new windows as a couple of our aluminium double glazed ones had condensation inside, a cpl more didnt open/close properly and there seemed to be some slight water ingress in places around the edge of the frame where i guess sealant may have run its course. One of the guys gave a seemingly honest appraisal that rather than replacing, they could be fixed/sealed properly for much less cost.. but im struggling to find anyone that does those types of refurbs. At what point should i replace rather than refurb? the windows themselves generally are in good condition bar those few i mentioned - but the sealant where theyve been fitted seems generally pretty poor.. and thoughts?
Aluminium windows need replacing or just resealing?
