We are in the process of fitting a bathroom suite in my house which we are going to let. The sink is a little smaller and not as high as the old one, so there is a gap behind it where the tiling stops. As we don't want to retile the whole bathroom and haven't got any of the original tiles, can anyone suggest an alternative to tiles to cover the space? Some sort of splash back or filling?

Can you not raise your bath up with strapping under the legs to bring it level with the tiles. It'll look much neater

Thanks, but we have done that with bath, it's the bathroom washbasin that's the problem.

how big is the gap?

you can get plastic strip intended to go around baths.

or you might consider cutting down some tiles to match the basin, presumably white

There is about 2 to 2 and a half inches above basin and a couple of inches to either side, curving round where the old basin used to be. The tiles are a sort of flecked / marbled cream, which aren't available any more

Go into your local DIY superstore ,you'll find them in the kitchen section, they're about 1mtr long by about 500 high pvc or perspex usually many different colours cut to your size silicon on and fit your sink.

one idea could be

remove one more tile all the way round and add a couloured mosaic
