Another corrupt copper bites the dust.

i do agree there are rotten eggs in all large organisation but you simply cant say that people you havent met are the same or simmilar ;)
What a sweeping statement to say there are rotten eggs in ALL large organisations.

Steady on big-all, our bad extrapolation techniques are rubbing off on you ;)

Anyway, returning to the original theme, in any walk of life and in any job or profession there is going to be a range of abilities and competences demonstrated by those employed. Since there is a range, it follows that there will be a "bottom" rung. It's whether this bottom rung's behaviour and aptitude is appropriate for the job that matters.

In the context of the subject matter, that's quite appropriate ;)

what you want me to do.

I'm glad you asked that. If you have a problem then share it! Anyway, what do we want you to do? Well,I can only speak for myself, LB, so how would I like to see you improve your input to this forum? If we take this thread as an example , your introduction is as it should be - a direct link to the source of the material. Good factual, relevant material, excellent in all respects.
However, then comes your first reply in your own thread - a reply which must rank as one of the most sweeping generalisations ever in this forum:

"entire sections of the police are corrupt, from the TSG to the Serious Crimes Squad, the Met, SO19, down to individual crooks like this. Traffic Cops are particular prone to being a bunch of crooked liars".

Where did you get your information LB?

Clearly you get some of it from your computer a great source of factual information! Do you also have a television? Do you get a choice of newspapers?

Regardless of your sources, please be careful with your posts LB, the last thing that you want is to lose your privelages and remember, you are due for release soon.

PS If it's 'Lights Out' at 23.00 hrs, you can always read this tomorrow.

I remember some senior policeman in the Metropolitan Police being lambasted for making the statement (which was quite true) that the majority of crime in the capital was committed by young, black youths.
He was literally pilloried for this , sweeping generalisation.
It eventually turned out that young, black youths were responsible for almost 70% of reported crime. Including muggings, drug dealing, TWOC, gun crime , robberies, rapes etc.

So the moral is,,, Beware of Sweeping Statements. ;) ;) ;)

Yet another rotten corrupt copper, the country is full of them.

Can you show the forum the proof from this statement then?

Dont be posting stories from the 70's and 80's

and you say the country is FULL of them, so i'll be expecting a huge list of corrupt police officers.

Although I was a bit taken aback by LBs claims, it was only when I read the information provided by Snico's links (three policemen killed on duty), that I appreciated the sheer enormity of his sweeping statement.

In another thread, I expressed great sadness in losing a very dear friend. That said, he was only a friend. The families of these three policemen killed have lost much more: fathers, sons and brothers etc. And it wasn't just three as this link will show:
http://news.bbc.co.uk/1/hi/uk/4451852.stm

These policemen died in the line of duty while trying to make this land a safer place for you, me and indeed all of us to live. It is upsetting to think that some posters may think otherwise. :(
