Just stumbled across this

I have sent the seller a question and eagerly await their reply.

Afaict at least the suppliers I've looked at claim the same ratings for their arctic cable regardless of the color.

Using yellow cable for 240V isn't exactly good practice but I don't think it's unsafe.

Its for using getting 240v around a site without getting pulled up on it by th foreman

I noticed the other day that one of the socket outlets at our place is wired with "arctic" yellow clipped direct

Another one for the to do list

yellow is normally associated with 110volts. However i have seen flex on all voltages in all different colours, even candy cane coloured

yellow is normally associated with 110volts.

That's for the color of the BS4343 plugs & sockets though. Although 110V site extensions using those also generally use yellow flex, there is no standard for flex color, and just because 110V extensions are normally yellow doesn't mean that yellow can't be used for anything else.

i know that, i was just saying that when one sees yellow flex in my industry it usually means 110v. Due to the fact that the plugs on that lead are BS4343, One could say its bad practice to have a 240 volt bs4343 plug/socket and yellow cable together

nothing wrong with it though.....However i appreciate somebody else that finally agrees with me about flex colours having no set colour requirement!!!!

Orange is common, but yellow is easily noticeable across the ground on campsites as well. In fact I think yellow is more noticeable than orange sometimes.
