Things were put in place to deal with a novel global pandemic, which we were still learning about at the time. There is no need to have the same precautions in place, although common sense measures are always a good thing.

For all anyone knew at the start, it could have been half way to "Contagion".

Depends on the job.

If surveying, primary protection is behavioural.
Disturb only what you need to and then, with great care.


Post-remediation, protection is both behavioural and "mechanical" : full PPE inc. P3 filter, shower unit, etc etc
