Another thread arguing about the value of vaccines (Ed.)

No, and why would I?

Same as before, if I am ill, I don't go around snivelling over people.
Well you thought they were needed when you were told daily they were why do you think they are not needed now when you know covid is still about as well as the other winter viruses and that its been proven that the vaccine doesnt stop you catching it .
Do you still ask people to go into another room if not why not

You don't have to.

Only what you touch and handle.

More appeal to extremes fallacy......
so possibility that you are working in every room in the property did you have a trailer full of wipes and sanitiser wear a disposable suit in every property to stop your clothes being contaminated

Things were put in place to deal with a novel global pandemic, which we were still learning about at the time. There is no need to have the same precautions in place, although common sense measures are always a good thing.

Another false argument.

The 'rona was a complete unknown - hence why it was called "novel" at the time - so the precautionary approach was sensible.
For all anyone knew at the start, it could have been half way to "Contagion".

Always did, and still do.

Standard practice (along with PPE, wiping down, decontamination etc) with asbestos, lurgy or no lurgy (y)

Give it up while you're miles behind (y)

"Scientists first identified a human coronavirus in 1965. It caused a common cold. Later that decade, researchers found a group of similar human and animal viruses and named them after their crown-like appearance."

Another false argument.

The technology to" identify a coronavirus " came along, when?

Besides, this coronavirus you talk of : was it novel, or was it something that had been circulating for decades / centuries, something which we'd evolved to cope with long before?

Another false argument.

would you like to tell me what your standard practises are when dealing with asbestos regards decontamination what class of full face do you use what filtration system on it what class of vacuum and how you transport that hoover , how you seal the room up etc etc

SARS-CoV-2 was first detected in 2019.
yep but he said rona .
as for sars
In March 2003, a novel coronavirus (SARS-CoV) (Fig. 1) was isolated from patients with SARS and subsequently sequenced (6–11). This virus was rapidly identified and characterized by a combination of classical virological methods and cutting-edge molecular biology

Poor gas, always determined to dig a deeper hole for himself

It’s obvious Brigadier meant covid 19

Depends on the job.

If surveying, primary protection is behavioural.
Disturb only what you need to and then, with great care.

Post-remediation, protection is both behavioural and "mechanical" : full PPE inc. P3 filter, shower unit, etc etc

Like I said before, give it up now.
