Another thread arguing about the value of vaccines (Ed.)

Turns out the "ill informed" were actually the ones that were informed - despite some truth being shut down
Lies were shut down

YouTube and Facebook are not the home of science

All the scientific data has always been on authoritative science repositories, nothing was hidden.

It turns out Facebook was a massive source of misinformation.

I wonder why Yukenburg wanted to put the focus elsewhere

Evidence shows almost 50% of the posts on Facebook were misinformation

“Our analysis found that approximately half of the posts (46.6%) that discussed COVID-19 vaccines were misinformation”

https://misinforeview.hks.harvard.e...ok-fact-checkers-vs-misinformation-spreaders/

We found that Facebook removed some antivaccine content, but we did not observe decreases in overall engagement with antivaccine content. Provaccine content was also removed, and antivaccine content became more misinformative, more politically polarized, and more likely to be seen in users’ newsfeeds. We explain these findings as a consequence of Facebook’s system architecture, which provides substantial flexibility to motivated users who wish to disseminate misinformation through multiple channels. Facebook’s architecture may therefore afford antivaccine content producers several means to circumvent the intent of misinformation removal policies.

Statically you're more likely to suffer more if you avoid getting vaccinated for COVID. It's a dramatic and very clear difference. It's objectively a bad call.

And if you can't understand that then that's another reason to judge you.

Tell that to those who have or are suffering from getting the jab! Lol

The people who say "I had all the vaccines when I was young" as if it proves they're not antivaxers are confusing. At best it shows their parents weren't anti vaccination when they were a child.

People who decline Flu or COVID vaccinations risk themselves and that's fine. Nearly always stupid, but fine.

But what about other 'optional' vaccines like the HPV vaccine for their children? That jab is absurdly good at preventing a common type of cervical cancer, but if you're 'sceptical' of vaccines then you might choose to not have your daughter vaccinated or to delay it. Both of which are objectively more dangerous health choices.

When someone says 'im not antivax but...' i find it means more that they don't like to be associated with antivaxers than anything about if they're more or less likely to get a flu shot.

Never had the flu jab either. I dont want or need it. Thats my choice. You have no right to judge me for that.

Lies were shut down
The morons are enjoying a bullshít free-for-all honeymoon, and why not. It won't last. The truth has a way of finding and exposing the weak minded, just as Darwin predicted.

Worry not Notchy lad, nature has a great way of dealing with stupidity.

FOR THE LOVE OF GOD FINALLY !
So then they were not ---
Reform voters
Trump supporters
Conspiracy nut jobs
Tin foil hat wearers
Mail readers
Climate deniers
Flat earth believers
And finally -- they were not Anti-vaxxers
All tropes from you.

I haven't seen evidence to support your claim.

Which of those boxes do you think you tick?

You're welcome. Don't ask me how much more harmful Id expect Calpol to be, because I don't know. I'd expect it to be by a large amount though.
Yeah all those babies with no side effects.

You’ve got us with “Facts” there.

I didnt take the covid vaccine. I have every other vaccine needed when younger. I am not an anti vaxxer either. Its just down to choice at the end of the day. I dont judge those that choose to vax or not...no point in it...
I don't judge them either. Most were just following the crowd.
I do judge those who sneer and look down on people who chose not to have the jab, though.

It depends what you mean by judge. I mean that I form an opinion about you, positive or negative.

You have the right to choose your own fate, but nothing says that when you tell other people that we have to pretend it was a wise choice when it's almost certainly down to ignorance.

So yes, I can and will judge you. Others may have a higher tolerance for idiocy and find it less irritating.
