another van fault

hi guys , my nissan primastar is playing up..
the problem!!!:

the van starts like a dream, first time every time. but i canr rev the engine , i cant put foot to floor but nothing!!!!!! just ticks over cant rev the engine at all, however if i leave the engine running for about 4 minutes it seems to sort itself out , i can rev the engine and pull away no probs. but if i turn the engine off for a few mins i have to start it and wait again before pulling away!!!.. any one had this problem or have any ideas!!please

Sounds possibly like a software problem, have you had the fault codes read?

worth looking at a problem with the throttle position sensor or electronic control if it has it

Had the same problem and got gradually more frequent.
Changed the MAF sensor which sorted it. It was worth a punt compared to the price of diagnostics.
