anti-freeze, compatible?

The system has this antifreeze in -

A couple of days a go, my nephew topped up with a bit of this by mistake -

I really wouldn't worry too much if it was only a top up.....theoretically the blue stuff reduces the performance of the red stuff but in practice you'd never know.
Its all about organic acid technology versus glycol and the theory is they don't mix - but Comma and other manufacturers now have products that will.
Its the corrosion inhibitors that have a reduced life in coolants, rather than the antifreezing qualities, and in alloy engines this is important.

I've gone ahead, emptied and flush (twice).

I'd given the lad a gallon of top up so I used that. Stops his dear Mama worrying about him and breakdowns.
