Anti Slam Device for bay window seat.

Hi there,

We have bay window seats with lift up lids so we can use them for storage underneath. Having small children in the house we are keen to find something to avoid the lids just slamming down any good products out there to do this ?

You can get fixings for overhead doors that are very similar to the piston thingy that holds open a car boot.

Something like this, but I'm sure you can get cheaper versions.

Or go to a breakers yard and nick one off of a car boot

What you actually want is the type of stay manufactured specifically for children's toyboxes, like this one:

called a Cara top lids stay by Hafele. these are designed for the job rather than secondhand tailgate strut.
