Anti-slip solution for a patio?

Hi guys
Ive got a slate patio. Each year, in the winter months, I nearly always come a cropper on it! Its so slippy! This year Ive decided to actually do something about it.
Can you recommend a decent anti-slip solution? Preferably something I can just brush on that will stop it from being so slippy? And perhaps something that works on wood too?
