My husband was going through a bucket of tools that were from his dad and found a strange looking implement. The tool is a wooden handle which has what looks to be Wakefield No 20 etched in the handle. Any ideas??

Wakefield were manufacturers of lubricators, in England anyway, a picture would be a definite help.

Ah the good old Wakefield No 20, what a great tool, not seen one in years

I think the description of a "wooden handle" certainly narrows it down.

Is it a cricket bat?

possibly the handle from a hurdy gurdy, or barrel organ, made in yorkshire..hence Wakefield circa 1920
