Won't mention the hourly rate, the southerners will probabley think they are paying their labourers too much!
To change an existing condensing combi boiler for a new one (different manufacturer/make,supplier ; company changed for "business reasons") . 8 hours pay to go to workshop , pick up gear, go to address and install commission and make good around new appliance. I found my day started at 8.30 and i left the tenants address at about 4.30 pm. after proper commissioning and taking a bit of pride in my pipework. No call backs. Some other colleagues away for 2pm and early dart!!!!
Is this the usual suspects for housing assoc. around the country?
Tenants and conditions can be a variety of characters/places, boss says "swings and roundabouts" and drives a 1year old 4 x 4 land cruiser company car. I've got a vaux cavalier 10 years old but 1.8 and still accel. great stuff. Still not got any poles working there, so perhaps the swings and roundabouts were only the road to oblivion before i left to go self employed. Is this the norm i.e. 8 hours for a cond. combi swop, for housing assoc. work up and down the country?
