Any point fitting a filter to Electric shower cold supply?

I am going to install an electric shower for my parents in the next few days. A built-in filter is provided, but because it will be installed flush in a tiled wall removing it in future will not be a five minute job. So would it be worth installing an additional 15mm in-line filter in the supply pipe to collect any debris?
