Looking to remove a light switch in a cupboard light, so I only have the lamp holder and lamp, I would control this by fitting a sensor on the door and a smart lamp, can you see any problems?

Any reason not to use light switch on lamp holder

Just have a switch which turns on the light when you open the door.
Long as you've got a way to isolate the lamp (assuming it's 240v) if/when you need to change it, crack on.
