Anyway to straighten handrails

Handrails on my staircase looks like this. Is there anyway I can make it straight? Can I plane around the side to make it straighter?

if its one piece not at all easy if its a joint where the problem is then shaving one side off the open joint to pull straight when tightened local picture top sides and underneath may help
