if i needed to take down a staircase handrail and spindals, including post apart can it easily be fitted back together by a experienced carpenter using all original fittings.
staircase is 20yrs old.

i have a expensive sofa which i cant get into a room because it hits on the staircase. there is no room to move it around, and taking the handrail, post etc and fitting back on maybe the only solution...

depends on construction
if its mortice and tennons you will need the chippie to "cut" and repair at around £200 as a rough guess

if its bolt/brackets/large dowels then probably around £150 but shop around

have you looked at the option off removing a window for access ??
