Apollo 15/30 banging on start up no CH

hi,
Ive got a apollo 15/30, have recently replaced the pump and 3 way valve. Its been working great but slowly seems longer to get warmed up and now wont wafm at all. It had been working better than ever since the new pump was fitted.
Last few weeks on start up its been banging quite loud.

Now it wont heat up CH but HW seems to be fine. Ive checked the 3 way valve and this seems fine, the pipework to the pump gets hot. Bled the system today and refilled.

Any ideas please?

Is the pump working? (use a screwdriver as a stethoscope)

If it isn't the pump overrun thermostat has probably failed.

Pump seems to be turning in a manor, but not constantly running.
I wasnt sure if it was the pump overrun stat?

Touch the pump with the sharp end and stick the handle against your ear. You will then hear the pump running.

......or remove circulator vent plug and check impeller torque via flat ended driver...
Never felt the need to use a stethoscope ....every day a school day...

I think that DH needs to try to remember what he has learnt about boiler cases before he gives some of his advice.

I must say I prefer to listen to pumps first rather than to open the screw to avoid getting wet.
