Hi
Can anyone give me some insight into fitting a water pressure pump to my water supply, as the water pressure i have is below the 1 bar mark hence it take over half to three quarters of an hour to fill a bath, i had a gas board man in to have a look at my boiler and the only thing he could find wrong with it was low water pressure.
Any help would be appreciated

I happened across this little pump the other day. The build quality is in place but permission must be granted from your local water company first. It may be worth checking out.

Also, a freind of mine who now works over in Holland told me that most homes there pump in the water pressure. I wonder what they know that we dont!!

I'd be very surprised if you get permission, you need a break tank.

Not sure what the fine is nowadays for breaking water regs used to be £1,000.

Of course your real solution is to dig up the old lead main in your land and renew it with 25mm plastic. In most cases I have come across it's on the consumer's side of the supply. You can get the local water authority to come and test their side first, they sub out to another firm, here it's Morrisons, who dig up the road and put a test on the supply , come back and tell you theyr'e getting 300 litres per minute, so the trickle out of your tap is your problem.

If there has been work done on the water supply some debris may have stuck in your stop cock. Renew that first as a matter of course, then test the flow rate just after the stop cock, if it's still bad, start digging.
