Hi All

advise sought on an unbalanced water supply issue and new power shower, I have a mains pressure cold water supply and a hw cylinder supply to my bathroom , the only CW storage is above the HW cylinder is 20 gallons.
Can I install the new pumped shower or do I need to invest in bigger water storage , no water tank in loft. Or can I restrict the supply to the pump?

thx

Been looking into this myself lately and the guys at Bristan recommend minimum of 25 gallon(115 litre cold storage). I have 20 gallon and to be on safe side purchased a 25 gallon one from Screwfix for 47.99.
This then gives me equal hot and cold supplies as my HW cylinder is about 25 gallon too. Most sites including Aqualisa advise 50 gallon cold water. This i cannot do as i live in Bungalow and is very restricted for space and both the cylinder and CW tank are in the eaves.
I have only one bathroom to serve anyways and i think 50 gallon is rather excessive.
O yeah and i am sure that you can restrict the flow from pump by just using the controls on the shower anyway.

You are not allowed to pump mains water so all the cold and additional hot will have to come from a stored source or change your system to unvented hot water (megaflow etc) and use an un pumped shower.

The amount of stored water will depend on number of showers likely to be needed and recovery time ie how quickly your tanks will refill which is dependant on mains pressure.

The flow from the pump cannot be altered by the panel on the digital, its just a button for on/off and temp control.

I would recommend fitting an additional 25 gal tank and either link both together or have one tank for cold supply to shower only. If link together then water outlets should come off one and ball valve should be in the other.
