Hi I have and aqualisa Aquatique Victorian Style Thermostatic Mixer Valve (concealed body)

This is connected to a pump, on a gravity based water system.

I have the problem that the water that comes out of the shower is at best luke warm, even though the water at the hot tap at the basin in the bathroom itself is piping hot.

If I switch the pump off, the temperature does increase (but still not very hot).

I know I actually have low cold water pressure, hot water pressure is fine.

Does anyone know if the temperature problem would be solved by replacing the cartridge or is is a problem with the pump?

Re water pressure, I'm talking pre pump, the cold pressure is less, so I wonder if this makes any difference.

Do pumps have thermo switches in them?

I'd go for a cartridge change. See the Aqualisa website to identify your shower and the relevant cartridge. (After removing the front control you can see the cartridge and there is a colour coded plastic bit which will match up with what is shown in the spares section of the website.) Order on line and the cartridge will come, complete with new seals, in one or two days. You'll need a little silicone grease though.
